World Condemns Trump for Striking Iranian Nuclear Sites and Escalating War

In a major international development, President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that the United States conducted a “very successful attack” on three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordo.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the action, saying that President Trump and him often say that ‘Peace through strength.’ First comes strength, then comes peace. And tonight, Donald Trump and the United States acted with a lot of strength.

However, this military action has raised global concerns. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed alarm, labeling the U.S. strikes as a significant escalation in an already unstable region, with potential threats to international peace and security. Guterres cautioned that the situation could rapidly spiral out of control.

Yvan Gil, Venezuela’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered a firm condemnation via Telegram: “Venezuela Condemns U.S. Military Aggression Against Iran and Demands an Immediate Cessation of Hostilities. The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela firmly and categorically condemns the bombing carried out by the United States military, at the request of the State of Israel, against nuclear facilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan complexes.”

“We strongly condemn the US bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities, which constitutes a dangerous escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. The aggression seriously violates the UN Charter and international law and plunges humanity into a crisis with irreversible consequences.”

Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, advocating for peace, urged diplomatic dialogue on X: “The ministry urgently calls for diplomatic dialogue for peace between the parties involved in the Middle East conflict. In keeping with our constitutional principles of foreign policy and our country’s pacifist conviction, we reiterate our call to de-escalate tensions in the region. The restoration of peaceful coexistence among the states of the region is the highest priority.”

The move provoked sharp criticism from U.S. political figures. Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna of California, known for opposing military interventions in Iran, criticized the strike, underscoring the lack of congressional authorization: “Trump struck Iran without any authorization of Congress. We need to immediately return to DC and vote on @RepThomasMassie and my War Powers Resolution to prevent America from being dragged into another endless Middle East war.”

Republican Congressman Thomas Massie also challenged the constitutional legality of the attack, stating on X, “This is not Constitutional.”

Echoing stronger opposition, New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called for Trump’s impeachment, highlighting the unauthorized military action as a severe constitutional violation: “The President’s disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers. He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations. It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment,” she posted on X.
