PM Anutin Finalizes Government Policy Statement, Highlighting Four Main Priority Areas

A source from the Bhumjaithai Party revealed progress on the drafting of the government policy statement, led by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul. The draft is now complete, totaling eight pages, with the main framework focusing on four key areas:

  1. Addressing Economic and Livelihood Issues
  2. Ensuring Security and Border Areas
  3. Managing Social Problems
  4. Responding to Natural Disasters and Providing Remedies

Regarding economic policy, the source noted that the government is preparing measures to reduce the cost of living, such as the “Half-Half” co-payment scheme, which is still under discussion regarding its system and funding, as well as approaches to reduce transportation costs, including lowering expressway fees.

There are also adjustments to previous campaign policies, such as shifting from “Solar Rooftop” to “Community Solar” projects with a planned capacity of 1,500 megawatts, aligning with the four-month administrative timeframe.

Additionally, certain policies from the Pheu Thai Party have been incorporated, with adjustments in format, such as the “Retirement Lottery.” However, the 20-baht flat fare scheme for SRT Red and MRT Purple Lines—which will expire on September 30—still awaits discussions with relevant agencies after the policy statement is delivered.

When asked about the establishment of a PM’s defending team in the parliament, the source confirmed it is unnecessary to form an assistance team as Mr. Anutin can clarify any issues personally.

Regarding criticisms of the People’s Party opposition, the source insisted that there is no behind-the-scenes deal or collusion, affirming that the government is prepared to address any doubts raised.

Mr. Anutin indicated that a request has been submitted to the Speaker of the House of Representatives to deliver the policy statement on September 29–30 or October 1, 2025.
