On December 7, 2025, the Supreme Court delivered the verdict No. 3781/2025, appointing Mr. Kris Narongdej, the eldest son of Khunying Porntip Narongdej, as the sole executor of her estate according to the wishes stated in her will.
The Supreme Court ruled that Mr. Kris, as the estate executor, is suitable and capable of managing the inheritance in accordance with the will, and he also has the acceptance and trust of his father, younger brother, and the deceased.
Additionally, the Supreme Court overturned the Court of Appeal’s decision and revoked Mr. Nop Narongdej’s appointment as co-executor due to the fact that, since 2018, Mr. Nop had ongoing conflicts with his father, Mr. Kasem, resulting in multiple civil and criminal lawsuits and causing the family to split.
Moreover, Mr. Nop lacked acceptance and support from his father and siblings. Appointing him as a co-executor would likely make it difficult to resolve disputes and further escalate family conflicts, ultimately hindering the proper execution of the deceased’s will.
This multi-billion-baht inheritance saga began after Khunying Porntip passed away in 2013. The Court of First Instance originally ordered Mr. Kris to be appointed executor according to the will. In 2020, Mr. Nop petitioned to remove Mr. Kris from his role as executor and requested to appoint himself instead, to which both Mr. Kasem and Mr. Korn (younger brother) objected.
The trial court dismissed Mr. Nop’s petition, which he subsequently appealed. The Court of Appeal reversed the initial ruling, allowing Mr. Nop to become co-executor alongside Mr. Kris. In response, the father and brother filed an appeal with the Supreme Court.
It took the Supreme Court nearly two years to review the case files. The Court finally ruled that Mr. Kris Narongdej is suitable and capable of administering the estate as appointed, fulfilling many duties in accordance with the will.
The testator also expressed trust and recognized Mr. Kris’s contributions to the family, as described in the will. After reviewing all evidence, the Supreme Court ordered that Mr. Kris remains the sole executor of the estate.
