Mr. Thanawat Trivisvavet, Managing Director of CK Power PLC, said, “CKPower has cultivated a robust corporate culture while simultaneously enhancing its human resources. Recognizing our people as the essential element and driving force for our sustainable forward momentum, we are attentive to all facets of human resources. We value and support every member, whether they are our employees or executives across all levels. Beyond this, we promote a ‘giver’ mentality among our customers, communities, society, investors and business partners, underscoring our commitment to all stakeholders. Our efforts have been recognized as we’ve been honoured with two esteemed awards: HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2023 and HR Asia Most Caring Company. This is a point of pride and honor for everyone at CKPower.”

“Over the last 10 years, we’ve created our corporate culture to be a strong DNA through our CAWTA core values. It includes five elements 1. COACHING AND LEARNING: teach each other like siblings; learn, take care of each other and grow together like a family 2. ACCOUNTABILITY: do the best and take responsibility for what ensues; make maximum effort at work with full accountability 3. WORK ETHICS: value what is ‘right’ over what ‘you like’; pursue a code of conduct at work with integrity
4. TEAMWORK: 1+1 must yield more than 2; focus on teamwork and individual process to achieve what is best for the whole organisation and 5. ADAPTABILITY: keep evolving; adapt to changes and be resilient; adopt and support continuous improvement as a pillar of unity and bond among CKPower’s employees.”

In nurturing the potential of its employees, CKPower emphasises on equipping them with knowledge and skills aligned with the company’s vision of becoming a leading producer of renewables-based electricity. The company annually prepares and reviews its training roadmap for employees at all levels and is able to draw on its know-how and experiences for knowledge sharing with co-workers while allowing employees to use their knowledge and creativity to initiate projects and innovations needed to truly change the organisation, the environment and society for the better.

The company also attaches importance to holistic care for its people with the aim of building and growing their bond with the organisation through continuous stream of activities that promote family-like relationship among employees while also paying attention to the work-place environment to ensure CKPower is a pleasant place to work. Special areas are allocated to accommodate specific social and cultural elements of individual employee groups, such as prayer room, breastfeeding room, etc., at all workplaces, even in the offices at the remote power plants in the Lao PDR, according to Mr. Thanawat.

HR Asia is one of Asia’s most respected magazines on human resources management. Each year, the magazine surveys more than 500 government and private organizations in 15 countries. Most importantly, it directly polls employees to identify the organizations that seriously attach importance to the welfare and overall health of their employees. The award winners must have a good corporate culture, a positive work environment and be able to keep all employees happy.

HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia is a respected award for leading organisations recognised for their outstanding ability to manage and develop human resources in individual areas.  Hosted by HR Asia of Malaysian-based Business Media International, the award has been held annually since 2013 with experts and academics from leading Asian organisations on the judging panel using the Total Engagement Assessment Model (TEAM) which includes three judging criteria: good corporate management to build employee engagement, attention to creating a proper work environment and promotion of teamwork culture. Evaluation has been conducted systemically on more than 1,500,000 employees from over 20,000 organisations in 15 member countries. The survey model, therefore, provides a fresh perspective from intensive “screening” in order to arrive at the “organisations” that pay attention to management and development genuinely for “human resources”.

The past winners of HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia have all been organisations with excellent human resources management and development, strong corporate culture and high employee engagement.  The focus on credibility makes it the most accepted award to recognise model organisations with outstanding HR performance as well as to inspire organisations to build a sustainable work ecosystem.
