CPAXT Showcases Leadership of Retail Sector in Integrated Waste Management at Sustainability Forum 2026

CP AXTRA Public Company Limited (SET: CPAXT), the operator of wholesale and retail businesses “Makro – Lotus’s,” reaffirmed its leadership in integrated waste management throughout the supply chain by targeting “Zero Waste to Landfill” by 2030.

Speaking at the Sustainability Forum 2026 Shift Forward: Overcoming Challenges, CPAXT announced that in 2025, the company managed to reduce landfill waste by 31,755 tons through its flagship project the “AXTRA Zero Waste: Less Waste, More Value.”

This initiative has generated over THB 79 million in economic value for Thai communities and farmers by repurposing waste efficiently, reflecting its role as a retail leader that drives growth alongside sustainable value creation. This emphasizes the company’s core commitment: “Sustainability is the root of the organization.”

Food waste remains a major global challenge, with annual volumes exceeding one billion tons. In Thailand, food waste averages 86 kilograms per person per year, posing significant environmental and economic impacts. As a wholesaler and retailer closely linking producers and consumers, CPAXT has systematically set out a plan for food waste management to deliver sustainable outcomes for all sectors.

CPAXT’s operations cover food waste management throughout the supply chain via three main approaches:

  • Upstream: Collaborate with producers and farmers for responsible cultivation and develop efficient logistics systems to minimize losses from the source.
  • Midstream: Manage in-store products to minimize waste by using automated ordering systems, implementing extended shelf-life packaging, and optimal temperature control storage systems.
  • Downstream: Repurpose food waste to maximize benefits under the concept “From Waste to Wealth” by converting food waste into feed for Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae, which reduces animal feed costs and can be processed into high-quality animal feed and organic fertilizer.

Mrs. Siriporn Dechsingha, Chief Corporate Sustainability and Communication Officer of CPAXT, said, “CPAXT prioritizes food waste management, as this is a problem impacting both the environment and society. We believe that systematic management not only reduces negative effects but also transforms discarded materials into new value for society, farmers, and the environment through green innovation, fostering a circular economy and moving toward the goal of zero food waste by 2030.”

CPAXT believes that achieving the target of “Zero Food Waste by 2030” through the “AXTRA Zero Waste: Less Waste, More Value” project will reduce environmental impact, create value for society and the economy, and sustainably elevate people’s quality of life.
