Digital Edge (Singapore) Holdings Pte. Ltd. (Digital Edge), a leading pan-Asian data center platform backed by global infrastructure investor Stonepeak, today announced a strategic joint venture with B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited (SET: BGRIM), one of Thailand’s foremost energy producers.
The partnership, Digital Edge B.Grimm (TH) Holding Pte. Ltd, aims to develop next-generation hyperscale and Al-ready data center campuses across Thailand to meet surging digital infrastructure demand.
Operating under the brand name ‘Digital Edge DC‘, the joint venture has announced an investment plan of approximately $1.0 billion, anchored by a 100-megawatt development in Chonburi province, Thailand. Situated within Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), the flagship project is set to serve as a critical hub for Al and cloud service providers expanding across Southeast Asia. The Chonburi campus has recently received approval from the Thailand Board of Investment.
Thailand’s digital infrastructure market is booming. With data consumption, cloud adoption, and AI and machine learning workloads expanding at record pace, the country is quickly emerging as a regional tech powerhouse.
According to recent industry reports, Thailand’s data center market is projected to grow at over 25% CAGR through 2030, with AI-driven compute needs accelerating demand for scalable and energy-efficient facilities. The government has committed more than $2.7 billion in incentives for data center and cloud investments, reinforcing Thailand’s ambition to become a regional digital hub.
The 100MW EEC project will offer high-density colocation, interconnectivity, and hybrid cloud solutions tailored for hyperscalers, AI workloads, and enterprise digital transformation. Construction will be fast-tracked to meet the urgent needs of global tech players scaling their AI infrastructure in Southeast Asia, with target RFS in 4Q26.

Speaking at a Q&A panel, Mr. John Freeman praised BGRIM for its nearly 150-year legacy in Thailand, while commending the company as a gold standard in regional infrastructure. Additionally, the CEO of Singapore’s leading data center platform noted that Thailand’s government sector has done a brilliant job in promoting and subsidising foreign investors in digital investment, praising it as the top rank in the region with quality infrastructure, power generation and internet network.

Mr. Nopadej Karnasuta, Co-President – Thailand Business and Energy & Industrial Solutions Business at BGRIM, stated that under the “Empowering the World Compassionately” vision, the company aims to deliver “digital infrastructure as a service” for its customers. The 100MW joint venture with Digital Edge is the first step to its total 300MW portfolio in data center business within the next five years, which would require about 80,000-100,000 million baht of investment.
Ms. Siriwong Borvornboonrutai, Co-President – Finance and Accounting at BGRIM, added that the Ready for Service for the first phase of the Digital Edge DC with a capacity of 48MW is scheduled to be in the fourth quarter of 2026, and the full operation of the first phase will be in 2027. The second phase of 48MW will be fully operable in 2028. The company will be starting to fully recognize revenue from the data center in 2019.
