Iran Launches Missile Strikes Against Five US Bases in the Persian Gulf

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran launched missile strikes targeting at least five U.S. military bases across the Persian Gulf, marking a sharp escalation in Middle Eastern tensions.

The IRGC claimed responsibility for attacks on the following installations:

  • Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar (the largest U.S. base in the region).
  • Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.
  • Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates.
  • The U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet headquarters in Bahrain.
  • A military base in Jordan.

In Qatar, air sirens were activated as the Patriot defense system successfully intercepted several incoming missiles. Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy in Bahrain ordered all personnel and American citizens to “shelter in place,” and Bahraini authorities urged the public to move to safe areas immediately.

According to the sources, these strikes were a direct retaliation for military operations conducted by US-backed Israel against several Iranian cities earlier that day. In response to the missile barrage, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) initiated a new, wide-scale wave of attacks against military targets in western Iran. These rapid military exchanges have led to a volatile security environment with a high potential for further regional conflict.
