KH Academy has continued the core mission of ‘Kaohoon Turakij’ to expand public access to knowledge and contribute to improving the quality of Thai society through the KH Legal Aid initiative, a social program offering free legal education seminars to the public. The project is designed to strengthen understanding of legal rights and responsibilities while helping reduce the risk of unintentional legal violations.
On April 25, 2026, KH Legal Aid held a seminar titled “Law and Life Planning after Retirement: From Personal Wellbeing to Passing on Wealth.” The session featured Mr. Wuttichai Phumsanguan, Provincial Public Prosecutor attached to the Office of the Attorney General, who delivered in-depth guidance on inheritance tax, the preparation of wills, and effective asset management.
The seminar aimed to help participants better understand how to organize their finances and assets before and after retirement in a structured, fair, and transparent manner, supporting long-term financial stability in retirement while helping prevent potential family disputes in the future. The event attracted broad interest from participants, including young professionals, individuals preparing for retirement, and retirees.
Mr. Wuttichai said that Thailand has now fully entered an aging society, with common challenges including online fraud as well as difficulties in managing assets and healthcare later in life, when self-care may become more difficult. Retirement planning should extend beyond financial matters and include advance legal intentions, such as preparing documents to decline end-of-life medical treatment or drafting a legally valid will to ensure assets are passed on efficiently to heirs without unnecessary tax burdens.
Such planning can also help avoid future disagreements among family members. Discussing death or wills should not be seen as distant issues, but rather as part of living with peace of mind and leaving affairs in order without creating burdens for loved ones.
Mr. Kanit Potijinda, a retired civil servant who attended the seminar, said the program directly addressed many concerns faced by retirees while also broadening awareness of legal matters that are often overlooked. Having learned about KH Legal Aid through the Kaohoon TV Online program, he found the topic highly relevant, having retired only a year ago. The retiree added that while many assume retirement brings peace of mind, there remain numerous issues involving inheritance law and taxation that many people do not fully understand.
Mr. Kanit praised the speaker for presenting complex legal topics in an accessible manner and said the program would benefit not only retirees but also younger generations seeking to plan their lives and manage assets properly.
KH Legal Aid is scheduled to be held once a month, free of charge. Updates and further details are available through KH Academy’s Facebook and Instagram channels, as well as the KH Academy application on Android and iOS.
