SCGP Delivers 113% Profit Surge in 3Q26 Amid Market Recovery and Cost Optimization

SCG Packaging Public Company Limited (SET: SCGP) delivered strong financial results for the third quarter of 2026, driven by regional market recovery, selling price alignments, and ongoing cost optimization.

Net profit attributable to owners of the parent company surged 113% YoY to THB 2,026 million, compared to THB 953 million in 3Q25, expanding net profit margin to 6% from 3%. Earnings per share grew to THB 0.47, up from THB 0.22 in the prior-year period.

Revenue from sales reached THB 32,577 million, up 7% YoY from THB 30,438 million in 3Q25. Revenue expansion across all business units was underpinned by packaging paper price alignment in Indonesia to reflect higher input costs, resilient consumer staples demand in ASEAN, and favorable pulp price trends.

Profitability improved substantially despite ongoing cost pressures. Although cost of sales rose 3% YoY to THB 25,719 million due to elevated raw material, energy, and freight costs, gross profit surged 25% YoY to THB 6,858 million. Gross margin expanded to 21% from 18% in 3Q25. Distribution and administrative expenses increased 10% YoY to THB 4,128 million.

Consequently, EBITDA jumped 29% YoY to THB 5,357 million (with an EBITDA margin of 16%), while core profit soared 95% YoY to THB 1,945 million.

By key business unit:

  • Integrated Packaging Business (IPB): Revenue reached THB 25,323 million (+8% YoY), while net profit jumped 87% YoY to THB 2,121 million, lifted by operational gains in Indonesia and Vietnam.
  • Fibrous Business (FB): Revenue rose 11% YoY to THB 6,676 million, with net profit turning around to THB 59 million (reversing a net loss of THB 149 million in 3Q25), boosted by dissolving pulp price recovery and foodservice packaging sales in Europe.

Looking ahead, management emphasized that continued operational excellence and AI-driven energy procurement will remain critical in buffering raw material volatility and protecting profit margins.
