IEA Forecasts Slower Oil Demand Growth amid Economic Challenges and EV Boom

The International Energy Agency (IEA) stated on Thursday that challenges in the global economy, alongside surging electric vehicle sales, will slow the increase in global oil demand to 650,000 barrels per day for the rest of 2025.

This marks a reduction from the 990,000 barrels per day growth observed in the first quarter of this year, as outlined in its May oil market report.
