Despite the tense situation between Ukraine and Russia, analysts say the conflict has had a limited impact on Thailand’s economy in terms of trade and tourism volume, while foreign fund inflow has continued. Foreign net buys YTD totaled THB70,512 million, suggesting that experts expect the SET Index will keep trading above the 1,650-point level. Recommend oil plays (PTTEP, PTT), retail plays (CPALL, BJC, MAKRO), construction material plays (SCC), country reopening plays (AOT, M), and IT-related stocks (DTAC, ADVANC), as well as hospital and transportation plays (BH, BDMS, BEM).

 

Headline: 9 hospital stocks report healthy earnings growth in 2021; THG, PR9, SKR, RJH lead gain

Six hospital stocks reported healthy earnings growth in 2021, led by Thonburi Healthcare Group Plc. (SET: THG), which increased its profit by 2,057% to THB1,337 million. Following that, Sikarin Plc. (SET: SKR) reported a 299% increase in net profit to THB1,395 million, and Rajthanee Hospital Plc. (SET: RJH) reported a 145% increase in earnings to THB1,011 million. Meanwhile, Praram 9 Hospital Plc. (SET: PR9) posted a net profit of THB249 million, up 23.3% YoY, Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Plc. (SET: BDMS) recorded a net profit of THB7,936 million, up 10% YoY and Bumrungrad Hospital Plc. (SET: BH) reported a net income of THB1,272 million, up 5.6% YoY. 

 

Headline: UBE set aside a billion baht for 2 new investments this year

Ubon Bio Ethanol Plc. (SET: UBE) seeks to boost its profit by 15-20% this year, with a major focus on high-valued products and sava flour. Additionally, the company set aside around THB1,000 million to expand into organic rice and sugar substitutes.

Jay Mart Plc. (SET: JMART) earned THB2,468 million in net income in 2021, up 209%YoY and setting a new record high. The company also paid a dividend of THB1.06 per share. Meanwhileม JMT Network Services Plc. (SET: JMT) announced a net profit of THB1,400 million, an increase of 34% YoY, and anticipates revenue growth of 45% in 2022. JMT has allocated THB10 billion to the purchase of non-performing debt.

North East Rubber Plc. (SET: NER) aims to generate revenue of THB28 billion in 2022, a 20% increase over the year, through capacity expansion and cost reduction. Also, the company seeks to expand its operations in the Indian market, with the goal of increasing distribution to 10% of total sales.

 

Headline: Six contracts for the construction of MRT Purple Line expected to sign in March

It is expected that six contracts will be signed for the construction of MRT Purple Line in March after the Board of Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand has concluded the auction. Ch. Karnchang Plc. (SET: CK) partnered with Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Plc. (SET: STEC) to secure two contracts worth THB35 billion, while Italian-Thai Development Plc. (SET: ITD) secured two contracts worth THB16.6 billion.
