Thai Oil Promptly Controls Oil Leakage after Incident, Saying No Interruption on Refinery Operation

Thai Oil Public Company Limited (SET: TOP) has made an announcement that on September 3rd, 2023 around 9.00 PM, there was an oil spill during the oil discharge around the area of the Single Buoy Mooring (SBM-2) of Thai Oil Public Company Limited’s refinery in Sriracha, Chonburi.

TOP noted that the company has mitigated the situation with an immediate response following the emergency oil spill plan in accordance with international standards. The valves connecting the SBM-2 were closed, the oil boom and dispersant have been put in place to prevent the oil spread. TOP is investigating the incident and has been receiving good support from relevant government agencies and private sectors. At present, the oil leakage is under control and no human injury has been caused.

Currently, the oil spill incident has not materially interrupted the refinery operation. The company has insurance coverage under Property Damage and Business Interruption, Marine Cargo, Pollution Legal Liability, and Third Party Liability .
