Ms. Kamaporn Tumpipit, Chief Financial Officer and Executive of Praram 9 Hospital Public Company Limited (SET: PR9), stated that on August 15, the hospital will publish its 2Q25 financial statement, with expectation of continued growth from the first quarter. The hospital has been generating higher revenue from foreign patients, compensating the drop of Thai patients during the low season in the second quarter.
As for the performance trend in the third and fourth quarter, PR9 expected continued growth from the first half of the year, reaching the peak level. The hospital expected that during the high season, the number of patients would increase, both Thai and, especially, foreign. Currently, there are a large number of outpatient departments (OPD) using the hospital service, while in-patient departments (IPD) are using more than 70% of the hospital’s 204 beds. Within the next five years, the hospital plans to increase bed numbers to 300.
This year, PR9 plans to increase its revenue sharing from foreign patients to 26 – 27%, an increase from last year’s 13 – 15%. In 1Q25, this revenue sharing reached 20 – 25% as the company expanded its market to Bangladesh, Pakistan, etc. This August, the company plans to present a kidney disease treatment at World Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, Japan. This is to attract Japanese patients facing long waiting lists and multiple processes before receiving proper medical care.
Ms. Kamaporn stated that PR9 has been investing in several sectors since the second half of 2024. Its revenue from medical service and its net profit have been growing strongly in every quarter. For example, in 1Q25, the hospital’s revenue and net profit reached THB 1.25 billion and THB 200 million, a 16% and 26% increase YoY, respectively.
As for the investment plan this year, PR9 has set THB 700 million CAPEX, focusing on a 130-room staff dormitory, medical equipment like MRI 3 Tesla for effective diagnosis, a cath lab for cardiovascular disease treatment, and a new long term service center. The hospital aims to increase revenue and profit margin sustainably.
Furthermore, PR9 also plans to expand its patient limit capacity by increasing the facility, adding 20 more beds, which will gradually open for service during the second half of the year. In addition, the ICU department will be renovated as the hospital plans to create a stroke unit, containing nine beds, and expand the bed number in the hemodialysis unit from 17 to 20.
Therefore, PR9 is confident that its revenue from medical service this year would have a double digits growth from last year’s revenue of THB 4.74 billion. Moreover, the hospital is also aiming to become an AI-Driven hospital by utilizing AI in the treatment process, as well as achieving carbon neutrality and net zero GHG emissions by 2050 and 2065, respectively. These goals are aligned with the national goal in addressing climate change sustainably.
Dr. Satian Pooprasert, Managing Director of PR9, stated that yesterday, on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary, PR9 celebrated its achievement in moving toward the future of modern and sustainable health service under the concept of “Good Health Grows with Care,” highlighting its dedication in providing medical service that people can truly access.
