International Patients to Shore Up BCH’s 2H25 Performance to Two Upcoming New Hospitals

Ms. Vimonmarn Krishnakalin, Associate Director of Finance and Investor Relations of Bangkok Chain Hospital Public Company Limited (SET: BCH), stated that the company’s performance in the second half of this year would grow from the first half that generated total revenue of THB 5.97 billion due to the expansion of service for self-pay patients and social security recipients and the increase of revenue, following the renovation of the hospitals within the company’s network.

Currently, BCH’s revenue from Outpatient Department (OPD) and Inpatient Department (IPD) is increasing following the expansion of the service for complex medical conditions among hospitals within the company’s network. Meanwhile, the revenue from social security recipients also increased due to the treatment service on 26 chronic diseases. Additionally, the company is confident that throughout this year, it would be able to get a full reimbursement of THB 12,000 per RW > 2 from the Social Security Office. Therefore, the company estimated that its total revenue this year will grow from last year of THB 11.84 billion by 5 – 10%.

Regarding the return of Kuwaiti patients, the visit of the official from Kuwait Embassy at the World Medical Hospital can be considered a positive sign. However, the period when these patients will return has not been specific yet. Nonetheless, the medical expertise of the BCH’s hospitals continues to attract new groups of patients, such as those from Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, which can compensate for the loss of Kuwaiti patients.

So far, the primary BCH’s international patients are those from the CLMV region, Middle East, China, Europe, and others. However, the number of Myanmar and Cambodia patients is declining due to the border conflict, but the number of those from Laos, Middle East, Bangladesh, China, and Europe is continuing to grow.

As for Kasemrad International Hospital Aranyaprathet, its performance is growing well as the hospital is applying for Hospital Accreditation (HA) standards. Meanwhile, Kasemrad International Hospital Vientiane is also about to become the first hospital in Laos to receive Joint Commission International (JCI) standards. BCH is also planning to increase its insurance service and agencies from international companies there. Additionally, the company is refinancing in the long term, which reduces the interest rate from 14% to 10.5%.

In 2027, BCH plans to open two new hospitals. First is Kasemrad Hospital Suvarnabhum at Samut Prakan province, which will provide 268 patient bed service, using CAPEX of about 1.65 billions and land of 25 rai. Currently, the company is applying for permits for its construction. The second is Kasemrad Hospital Rayong in Rayong province, which will provide 268 bed service, addressing insurance patients, and using CAPEX of about 1.48 billions and land of 30 rai.
