The share price of i-Tail Corporation Public Company Limited (SET: ITC) dropped as much as 5.7% to THB 14.80 per share in early session on Tuesday as the company failed to get an inclusion to the SET50 Index in this upcoming revision.
The decline came after the announcement from the Stock Exchange of Thailand due to an unexpected inclusion of Central Plaza Hotel Pcl (SET: CENTEL) and Srisawad Corporation Pcl (SET: SAWAD) into the SET50 Index. ITC was widely expected by analysts to join the top 50 stocks index.
These changes will become effective for the first half of 2026, running from January 1 to June 30, 2026.
Liberator Securities said that, in the new round of stocks entering and exiting the SET50/100 indices, the stocks entering SET50 are CENTEL and SAWAD, while the stocks exiting are BCP and VGI. For SET100, the stocks entering are GFPT, PTG, and STECON, while the stocks exiting are ITC, MBK, and WHAUP.
In summary, the stock with a positive surprise compared to expectations is CENTEL, while the negative surprise is ITC. Therefore, in the short term, it is recommended to speculate on CENTEL, while if ITC experiences a sharp decline, it is considered an opportunity to accumulate anew.
