Early-Career Talent Programmes Address Employability for Thailand’s Next Generation

For Thailand’s next generation, the path to employment is becoming more complex as technology reshapes the skills needed to succeed in the workforce. Future employees are grappling with a common challenge: how to move seamlessly into their desired careers.

With skills gaps widening across industries, structured early-career programmes are increasingly being seen as a critical bridge between aspirations and gainful employment.

Against this backdrop, Deloitte Southeast Asia launched Amplify in March 2025, a regional internship programme that aims to shape the next generation of business leaders.

Spanning Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, Amplify offers a 12-week immersive work experience that blends real client work, technical training, leadership development, and mentorship from industry experts.

With two annual intakes across the region per year for applicants with less than three years of work experience, Amplify is Deloitte’s response to the growing demand for skilled professionals in a rapidly evolving regional economy, aligned to the organisation’s global WorldClass ambition to empower 100 million people by 2030 through education and skills investment.

Top performers are offered full-time roles, creating a direct pipeline to a meaningful professional services career with the world’s largest professional services network.

“Amplify is not just an internship – it is a launchpad for future leaders. The programme equips young professionals with meaningful responsibilities, impactful projects, and hands-on mentorship to accelerate their growth from day one. Deloitte, as the world’s largest professional services organisation, is committed to delivering tailored solutions with quality and integrity that strengthen business resilience and support growth in Thailand, and Amplify is part of our holistic strategy to fulfil this commitment in Thailand.

We want to lead the way in shaping the future of professional services, and one of the ways we are doing so is by investing in the next generation of talent, equipping aspiring individuals with the skills and experience needed to support the advancement of Thailand’s economy as the country navigates an increasingly volatile environment,” says Dr. Metinee Jongsaliswang, Country Managing Partner, Deloitte Thailand.

In its first two intakes Deloitte Thailand took on close to 150 interns with more than 50 high performers moving to full time employment with the organisation, highlighting the growing appetite for structured, skills-driven early-career development models.

Three of the Deloitte Thailand Amplify participants reflect on the experience:

Sarun Khieonavavongsa – Strategy, Risk & Transactions

When Sarun walked out of Chulalongkorn University with an engineering degree, he knew he wanted more than formulas and theory. “I’ve always wanted to apply my technical knowledge to real-world business settings,” he says. That curiosity led him to internships in consulting and business development, where he discovered his passion for solving complex problems.

Joining Amplify felt like a natural next step. “Deloitte is widely recognised as a business leader, and the programme seemed like the perfect match,” Sarun recalls. His first project – a major automotive engagement – was a baptism by fire.

“It was my first time working on a large-scale project. Even though I had studied engineering, the real work environment was different. I learned how to structure problems, define approaches, and ask the right questions.”

Today, Sarun is a full-time consultant in the Strategy, Risk & Transactions business unit, driven by two goals: learning from the best and growing into a leader who can manage projects and inspire teams.

Phavinee Indee – Technology & Transformation

Phavinee’s story begins with economics – but her future lies in technology. After graduating from Chulalongkorn University and working as a research assistant, she decided to pursue her interest in a career in consulting by joining the Amplify Programme.

During her 12-week Amplify experience, she was part of the project management office to implement an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for a client. “It was incredible to see how everything comes together in a big project,” she says.

From project management to cross-team collaboration, the experience cemented her ambition to grow as a tech consultant specialising in ERP implementation.

Why Deloitte? “The team and leadership support here are amazing. It’s an environment where I can learn and build a long-term career.”

Nichapat Temphuwapat – Tax & Legal

Nichapat graduated from Mahidol University International College, majoring in Finance with a minor in Marketing, and spent time as an exchange student in Seoul, South Korea. Her interest in global business and analytical work led her to apply for Deloitte’s Amplify Programme.

“Amplify was exactly what I hoped for – a chance to learn through real projects and teamwork,” she says.

One highlight was assisting with industry analysis and benchmarking for a transfer pricing engagement. “I learned how guidelines apply in practice and why accuracy and collaboration matter.”

Thanks to the experience gained in the Amplify programme, today Nichapat is a full-time professional in Deloitte’s Tax & Legal team. She’s driven by a goal to deepen her expertise in transfer pricing and grow into a role where she can take on greater responsibility and add value to clients.

“It’s not just the work – it’s the people. The supportive environment motivates me to keep growing,” she says.
