Jasmine to Launch In-House Satellite by Year End, Eyes Partnership with ADVANC and NT

Jasmine Technology Solution Public Company Limited (SET: JTS), backed by major shareholder Jasmine International (SET: JAS), has announced that its board approved an investment in EOS Orbit Co., Ltd. (EOS). JTS will acquire a 19.23% stake via newly issued shares, paying up to THB 500 million in cash.

EOS specializes in satellite technology, including the development, production, and testing of small satellites (CubeSats), as well as related ground system and communication infrastructure in Thailand.

Dr. Soraj Asavaprapha, CEO of JAS, revealed that JTS plans to launch its first fully in-house developed low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite equipped with a high-resolution camera by the end of 2026 or by the first quarter of 2027 at the latest. This satellite aims to support key missions, including national security, precision agriculture, and advanced irrigation management, bolstering JTS’s LEO satellite business capabilities after the EOS Orbit investment.

JTS is also setting its sights on developing satellite-based telecommunications to deliver mobile phone connectivity in remote, offshore, and in-flight scenarios. The company reports ongoing talks with National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT) for potential collaboration.

Additionally, JTS plans to negotiate with Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (SET: ADVANC) to co-develop broadband internet and LEO satellite mobile services, estimating the need for about 30 satellites with an average cost of THB 400–500 million each—less expensive than terrestrial mobile tower deployments.

Long term, JTS sees the LEO satellite business as a significant new S-Curve for revenue and growth.

As of March 2026, JTS has pursued a strategic investment path instead of building from scratch. The key is a stake in EOS Orbit, the only Thai company currently operating commercial LEO satellites. EOS controls satellite development, testing, and holds orbital licenses from the NBTC and international bodies. This enables JTS’s immediate access to advanced space infrastructure.

Moreover, JTS leverages its GPU Farm to process and analyze high-resolution data from EOS satellites for national security, smart agriculture, and urban planning under a Space Data Intelligence model.

Financial support for the EOS deal includes THB 550 million from JSTC, a JAS affiliate, marking Jasmine Group’s advancement from fiber and submarine cable businesses toward LEO satellite infrastructure and digital sovereignty for Thailand.

Dr. Soraj also reported strong growth in subscribers for English Premier League broadcasts, with numbers reaching 1.6 million. Vietnam, in particular, saw rapid expansion to 1 million subscribers, attributed to the local government’s crackdown on illegal streaming, funneling demand to licensed platforms. JAS grew its sports business in Vietnam through its partnership with FPT Play, securing exclusive Premier League broadcasting rights for six seasons (2025/26 to 2030/31).

With live broadcasts having commenced in August 2025 and the second season set for August 2026, Dr. Soraj expects the business to reach break-even and turn profitable from the second season, powered by strong and expanding subscriber bases, especially in Vietnam.
