On Thursday at 11:24 AM (Bangkok time), the share price of Jasmine International Public Company Limited (SET: JAS) jumped by 9.48% or THB 0.11 to THB 1.27, with a trading value of THB 421.18 million.
Mono Next Public Company Limited (SET: MONO) soared by 5.38% or THB 0.05 to THB 0.98, with a trading value of THB 69.71 million.
The upward movements in both share prices followed JAS’ announcement to the Stock Exchange of Thailand regarding its acquisition of the broadcasting rights for the FIFA World Cup 2026 for distribution in Thailand, aligning with the company’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its media business, particularly in sports content.
JAS has indicated that the deal is currently being presented to the Board of Directors today for consideration and approval. Upon the board’s decision, JAS will provide full disclosure to the Stock Exchange of Thailand and keep shareholders informed of any developments.
Additionally, the company confirmed it had secured the exclusive rights from the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) to broadcast the 2026 World Cup in Thailand.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with the United States, Mexico, and Canada as co-hosts and 48 nations participating in the tournament.
JAS plans to host a press conference to formally provide details of the licensing agreement. Dr. Soraj Asavaprapha, Chief Executive Officer of JAS, will lead the event, which is set for Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Stadium29 (MONO), Chaiyapruek Road.
Krungsri Securities (KSS) wrote that the news about FIFA World Cup 2026 broadcasting rights is a positive development for JAS. Citing estimates from the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the event is expected to inject an additional THB 68.6 billion into the Thai economy, equivalent to approximately 0.4% of GDP.
The brokerage sees this as beneficial not only to domestic-oriented stocks, such as those in the retail, banking, and hire purchase sectors, but particularly for JAS as the rights holder and MONO as the broadcast channel.
There is also a positive outlook for companies expected to benefit from increased late-night consumer activity during live match broadcasts—especially during matches held at 11 PM and between 2 AM and 5 AM—such as CPALL, which operates 24-hour convenience stores.
The anticipated rise in mobile viewership during the tournament could also support higher usage for mobile operators, particularly ADVANC and TRUE, with the possibility of ADVANC partnering with JAS as the rights owner.
Krungsri recommends CPALL, ADVANC, and TRUE as continued investment opportunities, with a near-term focus on ADVANC, should the licensing details become more concrete.
