US Futures Steady as Fed Meeting and Earnings Reports Take Center Stage

U.S. equity futures were little changed Tuesday as investors prepared for a busy stretch of corporate results and the opening of the Federal Reserve’s two-day policy meeting. The muted trading followed gains across major Wall Street indexes, led by strength in technology shares.

At 4:24 p.m. (Bangkok Time), Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 0.15%. Meanwhile, S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq-100 futures fluctuated around unchanged levels.

Nvidia shares eased 0.28% in premarket trading after the company announced plans to put $3 billion into Meta.

The cautious tone came after a stronger Monday session. The Dow added 146.42 points, equal to 0.28%, while the S&P 500 rose 0.7%. The Nasdaq Composite gained 0.82%, helped by outperformance in technology stocks.

Artificial intelligence-related shares remained in focus after Anthropic publicly filed its IPO investor prospectus on Monday. The filing drew attention to both the opportunities and risks tied to AI, supporting renewed interest in the sector.

Markets are also watching the Fed’s policy decision, due Wednesday. Officials begin discussions Tuesday on whether stronger-than-expected inflation should lead to another rate increase. Traders are largely positioned for no change, with CME Group data showing only a 10% probability of a hike.

Economic releases on Tuesday include durable goods orders, consumer confidence figures and new home sales data. Earnings remain another major driver for investors. UPS, Coca-Cola, Visa and Boeing are scheduled to report Tuesday, while Alphabet and Microsoft are due to release Q3 results Wednesday.
