Unofficial election results reveal that Chadchart Sittipunt has secured a second term as Bangkok Governor, capturing more than 1.4 million votes as the vote count reached 95%.
The announcement was made by Narong Ruangsri, Permanent Secretary of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), alongside election officials approximately four hours after polls closed. According to the latest data from 6,628 polling stations across 50 districts, the top three candidates are:
- Chadchart Sittipunt (No. 9): 1,444,914 votes (65.6%).
- Mallika Boonmeetrakool Mahasook (No. 14): 288,171 votes (13.1%).
- Chaiwat Sathawornwichit (No. 10): 176,934 votes (8%).
The BMA reported that 2,201,739 people participated in the gubernatorial election, representing a 49.7% turnout of the 4,428,644 eligible voters. For the Bangkok Metropolitan Council (BMC) elections, the turnout was slightly lower at 47.4%.
While the current figures are unofficial, the Bangkok Election Commission is preparing to submit the results to the national Election Commission (EC). Under the law, the EC must certify the results within 30 days if no complaints are filed. However, if there are pending investigations or objections, the certification period may be extended to 60 days.
