Biden Labels Xi Jinping as Dictator, Two Days after High-Level Meeting in China

Just two days after sending Secretary of State Antony Blinken to a high-level meeting with China’s State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang and the President Xi Jinping, the U.S. President Joe Biden labelled the Chinese leader as dictator.

Speaking at a fundraiser in Kentfield, California, Biden made a comment to his supporters for the 2024 election run, saying that Xi Jinping was upset over the ‘spy’ balloon that the U.S. shot down because the Chinese leader did not know it was there.

“That was the great embarrassment for dictators, when they didn’t know what happened. That wasn’t supposed to be going where it was,” said Biden.

His comment came just 48 hours after the talk between Antony Blinken and Xi Jinping on Monday that both sides were reportedly happy with the outcome, though not much had been discussed and changed.

Xi and Blinken agreed to stabilize the relationship between the two countries, but still cannot see eye to eye on military-to-military contacts.
