US-Iran to Potentially Sign MOU as Soon as Sunday in Geneva

According to Bloomberg, negotiations between the United States and Iran are nearing the finalization of a memorandum of understanding. The signing could take place as soon as Sunday in Geneva, in coordination with next week’s G7 leaders’ meeting, a senior G7 official stated.

The document would serve as an interim agreement rather than a lasting resolution. Talks have centered on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, although an Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson disclosed that no definitive conclusion has been reached.

CNN reports that President Donald Trump has announced a “great settlement,” declaring that the U.S. has “ended the war with Iran.” According to the report, sources noted that this temporary agreement would prolong the ceasefire, allow for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and establish the groundwork for talks regarding Iran’s nuclear program.

President Trump indicated that Vice President JD Vance could participate in the signing ceremony, which is expected to be held in Geneva within days.
